Xiaomi officially informed that since the launch, 5 million units of Redmi 5A have been sold so far. Last week, the price of the phone’s 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant was hiked by the company. With the launch of the phone, Dark Grey and Gold came in the option, later it came with a Rose Gold variant. After being available in Lake Blue, Redmi 5A has now joined the line of Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Xiaomi’s Global VP and Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain tweeted about this variant. Manu wrote with the hashtag, “Radmi 5A will now be available in beautiful Lake Blue colour. Today at 12 o’clock in the sale, it can be bought from Mi online store and Flipkart. “
Talking about specification and feature, the new variant is similar to the company’s already existing Redmi 5A. Dual-SIM Xiaomi Redmi 5A runs on Android Nougat based on MIUI 9. There is a 5 inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display, which has a pixel density of 296 ppi. The phone has a quad-core Qualcomm 425 processor that runs on 1.4GHz. The smartphone has 13-megapixel rear camera with aperture F/2.0, LED flash and PDAF. For further selfie and video chats, a 5-megapixel camera with aperture F/2.0 has been given on the front.
Redmi 5A has 16GB of internal storage, which offers further expansion up to 128GB via microSD card. For connectivity, the phone has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 B/G/N, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS / A-GPS, Infrared, a 3.5mm audio jack and a micro-USB port.
The phone is also equipped with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor and a proximity sensor. To power the device, there is a 3000 mAh battery. It has been claimed to offer up to 8 days of standby time and 7 hours video playback time. The dimensions of the handset are 140.4×70.1×8.35 millimetres and weighing 137 grams.
