This is a big surprise for OnePlus fans, especially for those who are waiting for the OnePlus 6. The company has officially announced that the beta version of Android P operating system will be released for OnePlus 6 soon after the device is launched.
The global launch of OnePlus 6 is scheduled for 16th May, while in India the launch event is on 17th May. In India, besides the regular version, the company will also launch the “OnePlus 6 Avengers Infinity War Edition“.
Announcing the news the company said, “In collaboration with Google, we are proud to offer OnePlus 6 users an early glimpse at the future of Android. With a combination of smooth software and powerful hardware, the OnePlus 6 is primed to get you started on Android P.”
“By empowering and trusting in our community we learned users want a fast, smooth, and clean user experience – something we call ‘burden-less’,” said Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus.
He further said, “Beyond building the best possible Android phone, we work to provide more value to users by ensuring the smartphone experience is not dominated by bloatware and intrusive notifications. The creation of Team FSE (fast, smooth, efficient) helps create a recurring theme across all user reviews of OnePlus phone experiences as fast and smooth.”
What is Android P Beta?
Actually, the beta version is an early access to a software which is in a development phase. It is targeted to early adopters and developers and offers them a chance to share early feedback, enabling them to develop and optimize apps for the platform.
Google on its Android Developer Platform published a timeline showcasing the release track of updates for Android P. It said that the Android P Developer Preview will run until the final Android P public release to AOSP and OEMs is released, which is planned for Q3 2018.
The Developer Preview of Android P was started from 7 March 2018.
