Launched in 2016, both Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro smartphones are now updated with new features as the company has pushed a new EMUI 8.0 update for both of its handsets. Besides the face unlock feature, there are several other features now available.

The new system update carries version 8.0.0.356 and is about 514MB in size brings gesture-based controls, a gaming assistant and most important comes with bug fixes. The latest Android security patch for May 2018 has also been introduced.

The models which are now receiving the update include Mate 9 Full Netcom Edition MHA-AL00, Mate 9 Netcom Mobile Customized Edition MHA-TL00, Porsche Design Edition, and Mate 9 Pro Full Netcom Edition LON-AL00.

EMUI 8.0 New System Update

Just to recall our readers, the Huawei Mate 9 sports a 5.9-inch Full-HD display which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The Mate 9 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-inch display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 1080 pixels and Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by the same HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor but comes in two versions, 4GB/6GB RAM with 64GB and 128GB storage option.
