Face unlock on Xiaomi devices

Slowly but promising, Xiaomi is bringing new features to its existing smartphones. Among the features is face unlock. MIUI team has officially announced today that the facial unlock feature is now rolling out to three new Xiaomi devices in Russia, India, Indonesia, Hongkong and Taiwan.

These devices include Redmi S2Mi MIX 2S and the Redmi Note 5 Pro/Redmi Note 5. Face unlock has become the signature feature of premium handsets.

Last week Huawei also released the face unlock feature to its Huawei Mate 9 And Mate 9 Pro with the roll-out of EMUI 8.0 New System Update.

The Mi MIX 2S flagship smartphone is also available in Spain with Xiaomi’s exclusive partnership with Vodafone.

It is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 GPU and is available in three variants – 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage.

TThe handset houses a dual camera setup at the rear with a primary sensor of 12-megapixel equipped with Sony IMX486 / OmniVision OV12A10 sensor, and 5-megapixel secondary sensor. There is also a 16-megapixel selfie camera equipped with AI portrait mode. You’ll find a 3,080mAh.

It features a 5.99-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. The device is driven by an Octa-core, 2.8 GHz, Kyro 385 processor paired with 6 GB of RAM. There is a 3400 mAh and the rear camera is 12 MP with CMOS.

Specifications of Redmi Note 5 Pro

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a 5.99-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system. It is powered by Octa core, 1.8 GHz, Kryo 260 processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM. As far as the battery is concerned it has 4000 mAh and the rear camera has a 12 MP camera Exmor RS sensor supporting a resolution of 4000 x 3000 Pixels and the front snapper is powered by an Exmor RS sensor.
