After several rumours and leaks, it’s finally here. The HTC U12+ is officially launched by the company today. The high-end smartphone is the successor of HTC U11+ which was launched last year.

The highlight of the HTC U12 Plus is that it features a squeezable build and it has got pressure-sensitive buttons. It’s a little bit strange when all companies are opting the notch in the display, HTC went all the way to the regular display with narrow bezels.

The Essential Phone showed the notch in the display for the “first time” but the real pioneer was Apple with the iPhone X in 2017. Meanwhile, the notch in the display has been adopted by almost all Android manufacturers, including Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, etc.

The pressure-sensitive buttons are much similar to the Touch ID button that Apple introduced on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but what distinguishes them is that these buttons work even when the phone is switched off. Apple’s Touch ID button doesn’t work when the iPhone is switched off.
