Renewing its Android smartphone portfolio, HMD Global has today launched new variants of Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 2 smartphones. These smartphones run on Android Oreo but with the promise to deliver a pure, secure and up-to-date Android experience because they are based Android One and Android Go ecosystems.
The first Android Go edition smartphone from Nokia was Nokia 1 launched in February this year. It was a budget smartphone price at $85 (about Rs 5,500) with basic specs like 1GB RAM, 1.1 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT 6737 M Chipset and a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash.
Now today with the launch of Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1 the company has tried to offer premium craftsmanship and design expected from a Nokia smartphone and the performance to match.
Specifications of Nokia 5.1
It shares the same classic design of the previous version made from a single block of 6000 series aluminium. The company says ” it has gone through a rigorous 33 stage process of machining, anodising and polishing to give an exquisite satin finish and feel in the hand.”
The new Nokia 5.1 features a 5.5-inch Full HD+ display which is 0.3-inch bigger than its previous generation and 18:9 aspect ratio. Running under the hood a 2.0 GHz MediaTek Helio P18 octa-core processor.
There are two versions of Nokia 5.1 based on RAM and storage- 2GB/16Gb, 3GB/32GB
You’ll find an upgraded 16-megapixel rear camera equipped with phase detection auto-focus and there is a front camera with an 8-megapixel sensor and wide-angle lens. The handset also houses a 5.1’s fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone.
Specifications of Nokia 3.1
The new Nokia 3.1 is powered by MediaTek 6750 octa-core chipset and sports a 5.2-inch HD+ display with a 2.5D curved glass which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It offers an aspect ratio of 18:9.
It is also available in two storage/RAM options: 2GB/16Gb, 3GB/32GB
The back camera is 13-megapixel enabled with LED flash and autofocus and on the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter. You can also enjoy popular AR apps like Pokémon Go, pay securely and easily with NFC on Google Pay1 and capture the whole scene with panoramic imaging.
Specifications of Nokia 2.1
The company has mainly focussed on the battery of Nokia 2.1 and as a result, it is fueled with a huge 4,000mAh battery which is claimed to offer 2-day battery life. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset and the 64-bit Mobile Platform gives fans the 50% faster and smoother performance when switching between the apps.
The new Nokia has a large 5.5-inch HD display and dual front-facing stereo speakers along with a 5-megapixel front-facing and 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus.
Price and Availability of Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1
The Nokia 5.1 will be available in Copper, Tempered Blue and Black colour options from July 2018 for a global average retail price of Euro 189. The Nokia 3.1 will be available in Blue/Copper, Black/Chrome and White/Iron colour options from June 2018 for a global average retail price of Euro 139. Nokia 2.1 will be available in Blue/Copper, Blue/Silver and Grey/Silver colours from July 2018 for a global average retail price of USD 115.
