Today at the Google’s I/O 2018 developer conference, the Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi has proudly announced that it has open the Android P Beta Program on Mi Mix 2S which is company’s latest flagship smartphone. It is free for developers to use.
Xiaomi today announced its participation in the Android P Developer Preview program. This provides developers and early adopters a chance to experience the latest Android release on Mi MIX 2S, allowing them to try out the latest features, and test apps they have developed, ensuring that they work on the upcoming Android P.
If you are owning a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S (any variant) and want to get your hands on the Preview version of Android P, you can head to http://www.mi.com/en/androidppreview/ and download the preview.
If you are not very much technical, then we don’t recommend you to use this build because Xiaomi mentions several issues with the preview in its first build. Some of the issues that Xiaomi pointed out are mentioned below:
- Play Music crashes when trying to navigate to the music library
- The video editor is unresponsive
- UI issues for landscape
- Phone hangs when trying to access voicemail
- Voice search crashes in the Settings app
- Inability to edit local video
- Internet connection isn’t shown in the status bar
However, if you have joined the program and want to leave it or revert to the factory image, you can do so through the fastbook method here.
With this Android P Preview program, early adopters will be able to get their hands on new features and enhancements to this upcoming version of Google’s mobile operating system. Developers can now get the chance to test their latest apps on this flagship device.
