It sounds weird but its true. In a latest Battlefield 5 Closed Alpha gaming test performance done by PCGamesN AMD beats Nvidia . AMD has been a PC platform for DICE for many years. But this time DICE partnered with NVIDIA to be the PC platform for Battlefield 5. According to the performance test, which was initiated using the AMD’s RX 580 8 GB graphics card and Nvidia’s GTX 1060 6GB card, AMD beats Nvidia by quite an impressive margin rate.
The game was played with (Ultra Settings) across both 1080p and 1440p resolution where the RX 580 performed 33% faster in the test. On both 1080p and 1440p resolution AMD RX 580 performed pretty well.
At 1080p and DX12 Nvidia GTX 1060 8GB card’s Average and Minimum FPS rate was 41FPS an 29FPS. On the other hand AMD RX 580 8GB with 1080p and DX 12 performed at 68 and 59 Average and Minimum FPS rates.
Moreover, at 1440p and DX12 Nvidia GTX 1060 8GB card’s Average and Minimum FPS rate was 32 an 23. On the other hand AMD RX 580 8GB with 1080p and DX 12 performed at 47 and 32 Average and Minimum FPS rates.
However, Since it was an Battlefield 5 closed Alpha test, I think it would be too early to judge the gaming performance between these main stream GPUs.
We expect Nvidia to be working on improving the performance of its GPUs and the final result may differ with the actual gameplay of the Battlefield 5 when it will launch on October 19th.
