AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990X

AMD’s upcoming 32-core Ryzen Threadripper 2990X has just got appeared second time listed on an online retailer shop. This time AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990X seen listed for 2399 CAD, priced around $1850 USD on a Canadian, CanadaComptuers online store. Before this, the Ryzen Threadripper 2990X was seen listed by Cybersport for 1509 EUR.

The listing of the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990X clearly shows that the processor is based on a 32-core chip and 64-thread part. The processor can be seen listed with 250W TDP, 80 MB of total cache.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990X will come codenamed YD299XAZAFWOF and will be available with the same type of packaging as 1st generation Threadripper.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX

To recall, AMD announced its Ryzen Threadripper lineup of processors last year and a year after, at Computex 2018 this year AMD officially announced the second generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2000 series of processors.

  • Ryzen Threadripper 2990X (32 Core / 64 Thread)
  • Ryzen Threadripper 2950X (16 Core / 32 Thread)

Both processors are based on AMD’s new 12nm ZEN+ architecture and are compatible with existing X399-based motherboards. Both the new processors are expected to launch on 13th August 2018.
