Huawei Nova 3, Nova 3i Smartphones

After several leaks and rumours, Huawei finally launched its Nove series of smartphones, the Huawei Nova 3 and Huawei Nova 3i in China. The Nova 3 is an upper mid-range while the Nova 3i is a mid-range device.

We’ve been reporting about the Huawei Nova 3 for the last few days which included several rumours as well as confirmed leak information. Now when the smartphone is official we are now able to get all the details including the specifications, price, etc of Nova 3.

Specifications of Huawei Nova 3

The Huawei Nova 3 features a 6.3-inch IPS LCD FullView display having 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution. It is driven by HiSilicon’s flagship Kirin 970 octa-core processor with a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU and GPU Turbo technology.

Huawei recently announced the release of GPU Turbo update to some of its previous smartphones such as Huawei Mate 10, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, etc.

The Nova 3 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and for further expansion, the smartphone includes a microSD card slot as well.

In the camera department, the handset bears a 16MP + 24MP dual-camera setup on the rear equipped with features like AI-powered intelligent scene recognition and HDR Pro. On the front, a 24MP + 2MP dual-camera setup has been housed for selfies.

The selfie camera comes with Face Unlock feature and supports 3D Qmoji as well, similar to Apple’s Animoji feature. The handset is powered by a 3750mAh capacity battery with fast charging support.

The Nova 3 has standard connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, 4G VoLTE, and a USB Type-C port. It runs 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 out of the box.

Price, Availability of Huawei Nova 3

The sale of Huawei Nova 3 will start in China from the 20th of July, i.e. this coming Friday in Gold, Purple, Blue and Black colour variants. It has been priced at CNY 2,999 (Rs.30,600 approx.) based on the current exchange rate.

Specifications of Huawei Nova 3i

The Huawei Nova 3i is a trimmed down version of Huawei Nova 3 and comes with same display size and resolution, but a less powerful Kirin 710 octa-core processor under the hood. It also comes with Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology.

As far as the optics are concerned, the Nova 3i sports a 16MP + 2MP dual-camera setup on the back and 24MP + 2MP dual selfie cameras on the front. It is fueled with a smaller 3340mAh battery and has no fast charging support which is a bit disappointing.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and 4G VoLTE. The handset also runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.2 running on top.

Price, Availability of Huawei Nova 3i

The Nova 3i is priced at CNY 1,999 (Rs.20,400 approx.) for the 4GB RAM + 32GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at 2,199 CNY (Rs.22,400 approx.). It will be available in Black, White, and Purple colour options starting from August 8th.
