Toshiba has unveiled the new XG6 series M.2-2280 SSDs. The new M.2-2280 SSDs are built on the M.2-2280 form-factor with PCI-Express 3.0 x4 interface. Based on the NVMe 1.3a protocol the SSDs uses BiCS 3D flash memory with 3-bits-per-cell that helps the SSDs to achieve sequential transfer rates of up to 3,180 MB/s reads, with up to 2,960 MB/s writes. The M.2-2280 SSDs are available in 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB capacities.
The SSDs also offers 4K random access transfer rates of up to 355,000 IOPS reads, with up to 365,000 IOPS writes. M.2-2280 SSDs will be available with 5-years of warranty.
However, the price and the availability date is unknown as of now.
