Android 9 Pie

Xiaomi is already working on Android 9.0 Pie update for Redmi Mi MIX 2S, but before that the Android Pie is available for Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4, unofficially though.

Soon after the launch, the Android Pie update was available on Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3/Pixel 3 XL and on the Essential Phone. HMD Global on its Nokia 7 Plus announced the arrival of Android Pie beta 4.

In less than a week after Google’s announcement of the Android Pie, the update is now available for the Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4 owners. Thanks to XDA team who worked to port the Pie source code.

The same ROM will work on both smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4 are quite old devices launched in 2013 and 2014, so official Android Pie update doesn’t seem to be coming. But with the ported custom ROM owners of these devices can enjoy the Android Pie.

Everything seems to be working fine in this ported ROM, the only bug noted by the developers is that users are unable to increase or decrease headphone volume.

You can head over to the XDA thread for the download links and the instructions to install Android 9.0 Pie ported on Xiaomi Mi 3/ Mi 4.
