Android 9 Pie

Google has finally launched the Android P as Android 9 Pie, to the world. It took several months and tests to bring the final product which is smarter and simpler as compared to previous versions.

it’s worth mentioning that the Essential Phone and Google Pixel phones have started getting the Android 9 Pie update soon after the announcement. Other devices that participated in the Beta program from Sony Mobile, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus also get the update in the coming months.

Features of Android 9 Pie

With Machine Learning capabilities, Android 9 Pie gets smarter by learning from you and adapting to your usage patterns. There are lots of features in Android 9 Pie, but here we are giving only those features which easy to understand and useful.

  • Adaptive Battery: For this feature, they have teamed up with DeepMind. The feature uses machine learning to prioritize system resources for the apps the user cares about the most.
  • New System Navigation: This helps in multitasking and makes apps discovery much easier. Swiping up gives you full-screen previews of recently used apps.
  • Notifications and smart reply: In Android 9, you can see conversations, attached photos and stickers right from the notifications panel. It also gives you the option to reply (smart reply) right from there.
  • Text Magnifier: As the name suggests, it magnifies the text improving the user experience. The Magnifier widget allows users to view the zoomed text through a draggable panel.
  • Digital Wellbeing: It consists of several features like a new Dashboard, an App Timer, new Do Not Disturb mode and Wind Down option, which switches on Night Light and Do Not Disturb and fades the screen to grayscale before bedtime.
