Samsung Launches Portable SSD X5 With up to 2,800 MB/s Read and 2,300 MB/s Write Speeds

Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of its first SSD X5 which according to the Samsung looks pretty much like a model for a supercar than a portable solid state drive (SSD). The announced trailer also shows a mix of the SSD X5 along with a supercar. The new X5 is Samsung’s first NVMe-based portable SSD and also comes with Thunderbolt 3 technology which gives you a blazing fast transfer speed up to 2,800 MB/s Read and 2,300 MB/s write.

The Thunderbolt 3 technology used on the SDD X5 allows you industries fastest transfer speed where you can transfer a 3GB file in less than 2 seconds and all in a form factor that’s compact and durable.

Pricing and Availability

The X5 comes with a three-year limited warranty and will be available globally from September 3, 2018, with starting price at $399.99 for the 500GB model, $699.99 for the 1TB model and $1,399.99 for the 2TB model.
