Since the first unofficial ROMs of Android Pie began to emerge, this has generated even greater expectation in people who would like to test the new version of Google’s OS. Each OEM has its own roadmap for the Android Pie update on its devices.

Motorola has already released the list of handsets that will receive the Android Pie update later this year but left the first generation of the Z family out. However, some developers have published in the XDA forum a version of Android 9 for Moto Z Play via porting.

So, owners of Moto Z Play can now upgrade to the Android 9.0 Pie unofficially.

We have already reported Andoird Pie (ported) for some Xiaomi devices such as M3, Mi 4, Redmi 4X, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 5 and Mi A1, but it is the first time we reported the Android Pie on a Motorola smartphone and the results of the operation were more positive than in the brands already mentioned.

Before you proceed further, it’s important to know which features are working and which are not in the ported Android Pie.
