LG G5 is now getting Android 8.0 Oreo update on T-Mobile and Verizon in the US. The update is rolled out to LG G5 with model LG-H830 on T-Mobile and with model Vs987 on Verizon.

The LG G5 is an old device to receive the Oreo update, but the company decided to feed it with Oreo. The smartphone was launched in April 2016 with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and in 2017 it was updated to Android 7.1 Nougat.

It’s a modular smartphone that supports different modules such as LG Cam Plus, Hi-Fi Plus module which is a portable Hi-Fi DAC that can be used to enable 32-bit audio playback.

The LG G5 features a 5.30-inch QHD display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and translating to a pixel density of 554ppi. There is a 2.15GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset that powers the handset with 4GB of RAM.

The Oreo update on LG G5 comes with new enhancements and improvements and also includes the August 2018 security patch. Other features include picture-in-picture mode, notification visual cleanup and notifications badges.
