The German luxury automaker, Mercedes Benz is ready to import India made GLCs to the United States starting as early as October this year. Currently, the GLCs sold in the U.S. comes from the Bremen plant in Germany.

As reported by Automotive News, Mercedes USA spokesman Rob Moran said, “The SUV GLC is in great demand worldwide. Therefore, Mercedes-Benz uses the capacities of its global production network on four continents. This also includes the Mercedes-Benz plant in Pune.”

The GLC has been the most popular and best-selling luxury compact crossover in the US. Rob also confirmed that the deliveries of the Mercedes GLC from the Pune factory will start from next month.

It’s worth mentioning that Mercedes is not the first to import cars from India. Last year, Ford Motor Co. also started bringing its EcoSport subcompact crossover into the US from Chennai based plant.
