Microsoft has announced the release of Microsoft Office 2019 for Windows and macOS platforms. Currently, it’s available as a one-time purchase for commercial users.
Microsoft Office is one of the most popular software used in the offices across the globe, especially for creating documents, calculations and presentations and with the launch of Office 2019, it is committed to offering the most productive and most secure Office experience.
“Today, we’re pleased to announce the Office 2019 Commercial Preview of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, Project, Visio and OneNote for Windows 10. This milestone is the first in a series of preview announcements for the Office 2019 wave, said Jared Spataro, General Manager for Office.”
Office 2019 comes with new and improved inking features such as “roaming pencil case, pressure sensitivity, and tilt effects; more powerful data analysis in Excel, like new formulas, new charts, and Power BI integration; and sophisticated presentation features in PowerPoint, like Morph and Zoom,” as reported in the official announcement.
Office 365 ProPlus, on the other hand, is a user-based subscription service driven by the Microsoft cloud. Office 2019 comes with features already available to Office 365 ProPlus users.
OneNote 2016 has been replaced with the OneNote for Windows 10 as the default OneNote app on Windows for Office 365 and Office 2019.
“With Office 2019, we’re moving the perpetual versions of Office to Click-to-Run (C2R) exclusively so IT can take advantage of modern deployment technology to reduce costs and improve security. The advantages of C2R include predictable monthly security updates, up-to-date apps on installation, reduced network consumption through Windows 10 download optimization technology, and an easy upgrade path to Office 365 ProPlus,” Spataro noted.
