Android Oreo Update on Galaxy J7 and J7 V

Samsung Galaxy J7 and J7 V on Verizon Wireless have started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update. The update comes with software version M1AJQ.J727VVRU2BRH1 on Galaxy J7 V and M1AJQ.J727VPPVRU2BRH1 on Galaxy J7 V.

Both Samsung handsets receive August 1, 2018, Security Patch along with other features such as Notification Dots, Picture-in-Picture, Dual Messenger, and UI improvements to the phone dialer.

You also get Dual Messenger feature that allows you use two different accounts with one chatting app. It’s much like the app cloning feature that keeps your accounts for work and home separate, but on the same phone.

You can find Dual Messenger under Settings> Advanced features.

Verizon also noted that the NFL, Slacker Radio, and VZ Navigator apps have been removed and S Health and SmartThings (Samsung Connect) have been changed to stubs.
