Vivo’s new mid-range smartphone, the Vivo Y97 is now listed for pre-booking on Vivo China website. The handset will officially go on sale on September 11. At the time of writing this news, there was no information regarding the availability in other regions.
Recently, Vivo launched two mid-range smartphones, the Vivo V11 Pro and Vivo X23. Both handsets come with waterdrop notch and the new Vivo Y97 is the third handset smartphone from the company to feature the waterdrop notch design.
Specifications, Features of Vivo Y97 Smartphone
The Vivo Y97 comes with a 6.3-inch full HD display with a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. The ultra-narrow bezel design makes the Y97’s screen to body ratio as high as 90.3% which can bring a more visual impact experience.
The design element is undoubtedly one of the main factors making Vivo smartphones so popular among the young generation. Vivo adds a 3D micro-arc design on the back of the Y97, which makes the back of the phone more fit to the palm, resulting in a better grip experience.
The handset is equipped with Mediatek Helio P60 eight-core processor, with advanced process technology and currently, the 4GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant is listed for pre-order. The internal storage is expandable via microSD card up to 256GB.
To further enhance the Y97 gaming experience, Vivo brings a new game mode 4.0, which is also available in the Vivo V11 Pro. The operating system is Android 8.1 Oreo.
Photography section has always been the strength of Vivo, the Y97 is no exception. The dual rear camera setup houses a 16-megapixel primary and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor equipped with AI tech, 3D portrait mode, and AR shots.
The front camera has a 16-megapixel sensor with built-in AI beauty mode. The handset is fueled with 3,240mAh battery, which is slightly smaller than the one inside the V11 Pro. There are standard connectivity options such as Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, 3.5mm headphone jack, A-GPS and a USB Type C port.
