Xiaomi has started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to its Mi 5s Plus smartphone based on MIUI 10 8.9.20 which is quite an old device to receive the Oreo update.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus was launched in 2016 running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and in 2017 it was updated to Android 7 Nougat. It’s a high-end device packed with powerful specs such as Snapdragon 821 SoC, 6GB RAM, 5.7-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass, 13 MP dual camera setup, etc.
As reported by MyDrivers, the new update on Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus new features and also improves battery life and security. A new Doze mode has been added that helps save battery life by bringing the idle apps to sleep.
It’s an OTA update and rolling out in phases so it might take some time to land your device. In the meantime, you can check manually by going to Settings >> About Phone >> System updates on your phone.
