Soon after we’ve seen the Nokia X7 launch in China, a new Nokia smartphone “Nokia 8.1” has appeared on the benchmarking website Geekbench. It’s the successor of Nokia 8 which was launched in late February this year.
The benchmark page listed the handset as HMD Global Nokia 8.1, however, we don’t when this handset is going to see the light of the day. One point to note here is that the Nokia 8.1 is running on a less powerful processor than its predecessor.
As per the benchmark page, the smartphone is running Snapdragon 710 paired with 4GB of RAM and running on Android 9.0 Pie. Both the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco are driven by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC.

The Nokia 8.1 has scored 1841 on Single-Core and 5807 on Multi-Core.
Everyone is waiting for the global launch of Nokia 7.1 Plus which is the same smartphone launched in China as Nokia X7 a couple of days back. Now, it’ll be interesting to see when HMD Global decides to bring these devices to the market.
