We were the first to report when the video teaser was released of the HTC Exodus 1 in October. Now the smartphone is launched and can be pre-booked using only the Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The HTC Exodus is the world’s first blockchain smartphone developed by a major smartphone company and packs high-end specifications. It also has a transparent back much like the HTC U12 Plus and Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition.
The company also claims it to be a secure device because it comes with features like secure enclave, trusted UI, social key recovery, etc. It also comes with Zion Cryptocurrency Wallet. The project is lead by Phil Chen, a co-founder of HTC Vive.
HTC Exodus Specifications
The HTC Exodus 1 is a flagship device and comes with high-end specs such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, runs Android Oreo and has 6GB of RAM. It is a single-SIM (Nano) device.
The handset sports a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 12-megapixel and a 16-megapixel sensor and dual cameras on the front too with 8-megapixel sensors. In terms of memory, the smartphone has 128GB storage.
There is a 6-inch Quad HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Other specs include a 3,500mAh battery with HTC Rapid Charger 3.0 fast charging support, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition and HTC USonic with Active Noise Cancellation.
The HTC Exodus 1 is equipped with standard connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, VoLTE, etc. You also get Edge Sense 2 for one-handed convenience.
HTC Exodus Price and Availability
You can pre-book the HTC Exodus 1 for early access by paying 0.15 Bitcoins or 4.78 Ethereum token (roughly INR 75,000). Please note that because of the volatility of cryptocurrencies, the conversion may keep varying.
It is available for pre-booking in several countries starting with US, Taiwan, HK, Singapore, New Zealand, UK, Austria, Norway, and other European countries. Shipping to start in December 2018.
