Hyundai Santro is back in a new avatar. Today Hyundai launched the 2018 variant of Santro, one of its popular hatchback in India. The price of this new 2018 Santro starts at Rs 3.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
It’s important to note that the new Santro is a global product and therefore it’ll be exported to the international market too. The company is getting a tremendous response and only in 12 days when the booking started it received more than 23,500 bookings before the launch.
During the launch of New Santro, Hyundai India MD, and CEO Y K Koo said, “We are pleased to announce that Santro has got an overwhelming response once again. We started its online pre-booking and so far 23,500 bookings of new Santro have been done. The bookings have been equal to the three-month production and we thank the customers for this.”
The new 2018 Santro has a 1.1 liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that generates power of 69PS and 99Nm torque. The motor of the CNG model generates 59PS and 84Nm of torque. The car comes with a five-speed manual gearbox. The engine is a BS-VI standard.
According to Hyundai, the Santro’s petrol variant offers a mileage of 20.3 kilometers per liter, while 30.5 kilometers per liter of mileage has been claimed in the CNG variant. The maximum speed of the new car can go up to 150 kilometers per hour.
As far as the interior of 2018 Santro is concerned, there is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the top variant which supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link connectivity features.
For safety, you’ll get ABS and airbags on the driver seat in the standard variant, while the top models have front passenger airbag, rear parking sensors, and camera.
The 2018 Hyundai comes in five models – Dlite, Era, Magna, Sportz, and Asta. As mentioned above, the price starts at Rs 3.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the standard version and goes up to Rs 5.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end model.
