Apple recently seeded the iOS 12.1 beta bringing the fixes for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max battery charging issue. Now Apple has released the beta 5 of iOS 12.1. Apple has also released WatchOS 5.1 and tvOS 12.1 for developers. The new iOS 12.1 beta 5 update is now rolling via OTA, so make sure that you have iOS 12’s new “Automatic Updates” enabled on your iPhones. The iOS 12 developer or public beta lets you try out all the new features of the update before everyone else. One of the new features of the iOS 12.1 beta 5 includes new features such as Group FaceTime. The update also contains bug fixes and improvements.
Apple has also released WatchOS 5.1 beta 5 for developers which can be downloaded going through your iPhone’s Watch app then General and then Software update. You can also download the update via Apple Developer Center here, developer.apple.com/download.
But for that, you will first need to enroll in the Apple Beta Software Program for iOS 12 if haven’t already done that and a valid Apple ID. If you haven’t yet enrolled in the beta program then you can sign up for this here at beta.apple.com.
There is also a tvOS 12.1 update which can be downloaded using a valid configuration profile.
Please Note, don’t forget to take backup of your phone’s data before downloading and installing a new update manually on your device from the Apple Developer Center.
