Microsoft has launched the Surface Headphones enabled with Cortana virtual assistant and noise cancellation support. Other features include rich audio, Bluetooth connectivity, and on-ear touch controls.
Microsoft notes that the pairing functionality requires Windows 10 Spring Creators Update. The Surface Headphones are equipped with battery which gets a full charge in less than 2 hours and claims to offers up to 15 hours of playback time on a single charge.
You also get the Power button and Mute button along with a dial on the left ear cup to adjust the noise cancellation level and on the right for the volume level. There are a USB-C and a 3.5 mm audio connectors.
For noise cancellation, Microsoft has included 13 levels of ambient noise control, up to 30 dB for active noise cancellation and up to 40 dB for passive noise cancellation.
The Surface Headphones are going to compete with high-end headphones from Bose, Sennheiser, and Sony. As far as the availability is concerned, they will be in the US “later this year”.
