We all are currently looking forward to the OnePlus 6T launch, which is scheduled for a launch date on October 29. Just ahead of its launch we now have some new exciting news about OnePlus next device. OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei at the Qualcomm Summit dedicated to the 4G and 5G network held in Hong Kong confirmed that OnePlus news device which is most likely to be called as OnePlus 7 will come next year in 2019 with 5G network support.
At the Qualcomm Summit 2018, several other OMEs made their appearance revealing that they are also committed to the Qualcomm’s latest 5G technology in 2019. The OMEs which are committed and will launch smartphones with the X50 5G NR modem includes Asus, HMD Global, LG, Motorola, Oppo, Sony, Vivo, and Xiaomi. However, the list didn’t include the two big names, Huawei and Samsung.
Qualcomm’s President Cristiano Amon during the Qualcomm Summit 2018 said that the company expects the release of at least two flagship 5G smartphones next year. One of the handsets may arrive in the first half of the year, and one in the second.
We are now pretty sure that 2019 will be a year of 5G and smartphone manufacturers have already started preparing for it as well. To recall, Xiaomi recently announced its latest Mi Mix 3 device that would be the first Mi device to come with 5G network support and it is scheduled to be launched on October 25, two more days to go.
Reportedly, Sony is also expected to launch its next flagship the Xperia XZ4 with 5G network support next year.
However, it is expected that smartphones will start adopting the 5G technology, not before the first half of 2019, but we can expect 5G enabled Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots by the end of this year 2018.
