Razer, the company known for bringing high-end gaming hardware has launched the Razer Phone 2 for game enthusiasts. It’s a flagship gaming phone equipped with premium features and the successor to Razer Phone that was launched last year.
It has not one but several highlight features such as an upgraded processor, vapor chamber cooling, wireless charging, water resistance, etc. It also features an illuminated logo with Razer Chroma tech that easily switches between different RGB color profile.
Razer Phone 2 Features, Specifications
The Razer Phone 2 flaunts a 5.7-inch IGZO LCD display with Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and the company says, “it’s still the only smartphone with a true 120Hz screen, and that includes both touch sampling and display refresh rate.” The display gets the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
This gaming smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which we have seen in other flagship competing phones such as OnePlus 6, Vivo Nex, Oppo Find X, etc. There is Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.
We get the dual camera setup at the rear with 12-megapixel sensors with one wide-angle camera and another telephoto camera capable of 2x optical zoom. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper enabled with 1080p video recording capability at 30 frames per second.
Other features include Dolby Atmos powered dual stereo speakers at the front, 4,000mAh battery that supports Qualcomm QuickCharge+, runs Android 8.1 Oreo with Nova Launcher and also supports wireless charging. The wireless charging base station is available separately.
The Razer Phone 2 is IP67 certified device which protected when submerged up to 1 meter of water. It offers the fingerprint sensor on the side. The handset comes with Razer Cortex Mobile app which allows users to discover a curated list of popular mobile games and utilize the Game Booster software for launching games and optimization.
For connectivity, the handset comes with GSM, WCDMA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wireless Standards: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Dual-band (MIMO) with 2×2 antennas and USB-C to USB-C Cable.
Razer Phone 2 Price and Availability
The Razer Phone 2 is priced at $799 (around INR 59,500) for the 64GB variant. It will be available in Classy Mirror back finish and will be available for pre-order starting 12.01AM PST on October 11 in the US region. and is not likely to come to India.
There is also a 128GB variant which will be released at a later date in rugged satin finish.
