As we reported in August Sony is ready to release Android 9.0 Pie update to a series of its smartphones starting November and now Sony Xperia XZ Premium, XZ1, and XZ1 Compact have started receiving the Pie update.
According to the Xperia Blog, the update has been released for a limited number of regions and the models are also limited as for now. However, we can see a wider release of Android Pie update in the coming days.
The update comes with the build number to 47.2.A.0.306 and includes the 1 October 2018 Android security patch. The changelog for all these smartphones have not been mentioned yet but the update is expected to bring revamped camera user interface, Full HD 960fps slow-motion video support and HDR video image enhancement (X-Reality with HDR converter).
Last time Sony said regarding the update to its devices that, “We always aim for the quickest possible upgrade rollout from the time Google makes its announcement to when it reaches your smartphone. And it’s essential that Sony engineers have the time to implement all our feature upgrades and test devices to meet our high-quality standards.”
