According to an Economic Times report, Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp will soon begin rolling out Ads into the “Status” feature on its App. According to the report, WhatsApp Vice President Chris Daniels on Wednesday said that the company is going to put advertisements in its “Status” feature. By doing this, Chris explained, that the feature will become the primary monetization mode for the company as well as will also provide an opportunity for businesses to reach people on WhatsApp,”
Here is what’s actually Daniels told reporters. “We are going to be putting ads in ‘Status’. That is going to be primary monetisation mode for the company as well as an opportunity for businesses to reach people on WhatsApp,”.
As per the media reports, WhatsApp new Advertisement feature would be powered by Facebook’s native advertising system.
We would like to remind you that, WhatsApp has never used advertisements on its app. The app has always been ad-free till date, but now after its acquisition by Facebook for $19 billion four years back in 2014, WhatsApp is finally getting ads.
However, Chris Daniels didn’t mark an exact date on the availability of the new advertisement feature on its app. WhatsApp currently has over 1.5 billion users globally, and more than 250 million in India.
