Android 9.0 Pie Update Released for Nokia 5.1 Plus

Finally! After fueling the Nokia X5 with Android Pie, HMD Global has announced the Pie update to the Nokia 5.1 Plus. The Nokia X5 is the Chinese variant of the Nokia 5.1 Plus and just a day back it started receiving the update.

Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global today announced the news via Twitter. The update includes the December 2018 security patch and brings the software version V2.09B.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus launched in the Indian market in August alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus. Below is the Android Pie changelog for Nokia 5.1 Plus:

What’s New

–¬† New system navigation, settings menu, and notifications

–¬† Adaptive Battery power prioritization for users’ most commonly used apps/services

–¬† Adaptive and optimized brightness levels

–¬†¬† Predictive Application Actions

–¬† Google Security Patch¬† 2018-12

There are another bunch of features that Android Pie includes such as Digital Wellbeing, Slices, App Timers, and Do Not Disturb among others.

However, as we’ve seen the OnePlus 5 Android Pie update does not bring the¬†Digital Wellbeing feature, we can’t say the same for Nokia 5.1 Plus, as for now.

Other Nokia phones receiving the Android Pie update includes Nokia 7.1, Nokia 6.1 aka Nokia 6 (2018), and Nokia 8.
