Android Pie Update on Nokia X5

HMD Global has started seeding the Android 9.0 Pie update to the Nokia X5 smartphone in China. Nokia 5.1 Plus, which is the global variant of Nokia X5 is also expected to get the Pie update soon.

However, there is no official information regarding the Pie update in India or other regions for Nokia 5.1 Plus.

The update weighs around 1467MB and comes with December security patch alongside other features such as new system navigation. It’s important to note that Nokia has already released the Android Pie update to a couple of smartphones.

Nokia smartphones started receiving the Android Pie stable update includes Nokia 7.1Nokia 6.1 aka Nokia 6 (2018), and Nokia 8.

The Nokia X5 was launched in China in July and the Nokia 5.1 Plus launched in the Indian market in August alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is a dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone and comes with a 5.8-inch full HD+ display. It has a 2.5D glass at the rear, which is 8 mm thick. A MediaTek Helio P60 SoC (four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz) coupled with 3GB of RAM.

It runs stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The rear panel of Nokia 5.1 Plus houses a dual-camera setup with a 13-megapixel+5-megapixel sensor. An 8-megapixel selfie camera sits on the front.
