Honor Magic 2 is Huawei’s upcoming smartphone that features a sliding mechanism to hide the Display Notch and provide a better place to house the front camera. However, we have also seen the same sliding mechanism on other devices as well which includes, Lenovo Z5 Pro, and recently launched Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.
However, at the time of Honor Magic 2 announcement, the company have said that the new Honor Magic 2 will soon get the ability to launch the front-facing camera by sliding down the front panel of the device.
At the time of the announcement, the feature wasn’t made available for the Honor Magic 2 but it seems that the new feature now available with the latest version EMUI 9. As reported by XDA Developers, the Honor Magic 2 latest EMUI 220.127.116.11 update now adds the new feature that will allow users to open the camera app just by sliding down the screen.
However, the feature only allows you to open the front camera app and not every app, like on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3’s, which allows you to open any app by sliding down the front screen panel. But still, the features come pretty handy, as users will no longer need to slide down the screen and then open the camera app manually.
