Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge got listed on Geekbench running Android Pie. However, the official Samsung Android Pie update roadmap skipped the handset.
Samsung recently released a revised Android Pie update roadmap for a number of its devices. The interesting point is, the list also includes budget smartphones which came in 2017, and it’s really a surprise.
Another point here is that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge has been left out from the list of handsets eligible for the Android Pie update. Some are saying that both devices received two major Android updates that’s why Samsung did not include them.
But as we dug into the Geekbench, we found the Galaxy S7 running the latest Android 9 Pie. A couple of days back, we saw Samsung started releasing the Pie update to its Galaxy S9, and S9 Plus, a 2018 flagship duo. Though, both handsets were set to receive the update in January 2019.
As per the recent Android Pie roadmap from Samsung, Galaxy Note 9 will be receiving the Pie update in February. In March, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and S8+ and more device in the following months.
Some of the budget Samsung phones scheduled to receive the Pie update sometime in 2019 includes the Galaxy J3 (2017), Galaxy J4, Galaxy J4+, and Galaxy J7 (2017).
Since the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are not on the list let’s wait and see if they get the Pie or not.
