Android Pie on Asus ZenFone 5Z

Asus has started releasing the Android Pie update to its ZenFone 5Z smartphone in India. The update comes with a host of new features along with improvement in performance and system optimizations.

In November 2018, the news came that the Asus ZenFone 5Z will get the Android 9.0 Pie update in Early Q1 2019.

The ZenUI user interface gets a new multitasking window, contextual pop-up volume bar, gesture navigation. It also brings camera performance enhancements and with the magnifier feature you can easily copy-paste the content.

The Asus Zenfone 5Z was launched in India in July 2018. It is a high-end device and packs enough specifications to compete with compete with OnePlus 6 and Honor 10. It has a 6.2-inch full-HD+ Super IPS+ display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9.

Under the hood, you get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor in combination with Adreno 630 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. The smartphone bears a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixels secondary sensor.

The Asus ZenFone 5Z has already got the face unlock feature in earlier updates. As reported, the new Pie update is rolling out via OTA, so it might take some time to reach all users. You can also check the update manually by going to Settings > About > System Update.
