Honor has brought a new mid-range smartphone in China, the Honor Play 8A. Initially, it was speculated to be launched as Honor 8A but the official listing reveals the name as Play 8A. Maybe 8A could be the global variant of the phone, however, there is no word on the global launch.
The highlight features of the handset include a notched display, single rear camera and MediaTek Helio P35 SoC. Let’s talk about the specifications in details.
Honor Play 8A Specifications
Being a mid-range phone, the Honor Play 8A comes with a plastic rear panel with a metallic frame around its edges. A 6-inch IPS LCD Pearl FullView display houses a notch with the front camera. Screen-to-body ratio is 87 percent.
The smartphone packs with a decent Helio P35 (MT6765) processor with 2.3 GHz speed. The phone will be available in 3GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage options. In addition, you also get the support of microSD card up to 512GB.
An 8-megapixel single camera with f/1.8 aperture sits on the rear of the phone, while an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture is given on the front. The rear camera comes with PDAF, HDR, professional mode photography and LED flash.
There is no fingerprint scanner, however, you get the face recognition feature to unlock the Honor Play 8A. A 3020 mAh battery fuels the Android 9 Pie running phone enabled with 10W fast charging support.

The Honor Play 8A is now listed on VMall. The 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant is available at CNY 799 (around INR 8,100) and 3GB+64GB model at 999 (around INR 10,100) in China.
