On January 24, Huawei announced the 5G multi-mode chipset Balong 5000 in Beijing. Richard Yu, Huawei CEO has now confirmed to unveil the foldable 5G smartphone at MWC 2019 event. The announcement was made at the closing of a pre-MWC 2019 briefing in Beijing.
Mr. Yu said, “We look forward to seeing you in Barcelona in February, where we will launch the world’s first 5G smartphone with a foldable screen.”
He further said that Huawei has a full range of capabilities including chips, terminals, cloud services, and networks. It is a leader in the 5G era and will bring a wonderful full-scenario smart life experience to consumers around the world.
The 5G smartphone market is heating up because the number of players growing day by day. Samsung will also launch the 5G variant of Galaxy S10 in March. LG has also confirmed the unveiling of the 5G smartphone at MWC 2019.
Not only the 5G devices but in 2019 we are also going to see the foldable smartphones. We recently saw Xiaomi Foldable Phone in the hands of Xiaomi founder Bin Lin. Samsung also preparing to launch its foldable smartphone expected to be called the Galaxy F.
Talking about the Huawei’s 5G foldable phone, it will be powered by the company’s own Kirin 980 processor in combination with new 5G-enabled Balong 5000 modem. So we are super excited about the event.
