A few days ago it was announced that Xiaomi will make Redmi into a completely independent sub-brand. Additionally, a new Redmi smartphone will be announced on January 10 equipped with a 48-megapixel camera.
Today, Xiaomi Founder and CEO, Lei Jun shared some images of the upcoming Redmi phone. He also revealed that there will be a 2.5D glass on both the front and the back. Also, the phone will be available in solid and gradient color options.

Lei, however, did not reveal the name of the handset, but it’s expected to be called as Redmi X, Redmi Note 7 or Redmi Pro 2. Maybe, it’s a whole series. The official Redmi images show only the rear side of the phone. Although, we can see a dual camera setup placed vertically with LED flash.
In addition, a fingerprint sensor in the center and a USB Type-C port along with a pair of speakers at the bottom is also given. The rear camera will have a 48-megapixel main lens that will allow a high photographic experience in low-light situations.
The design of the new Redmi is quite refreshing compared to the models of its predecessors and there are three color options – Black, Blue, and Red (both in Gradient finish).
