Xiaomi has launched its first smartphone in 2019, the Redmi Note 7. It is also the first phone to arrive under the Redmi brand. A few days back, Xiaomi announced to make the Redmi as an independent brand. Images of the Redmi Note 7 was also released.
This decision also comes with a change of a position where Lu Weibing has taken the position as vice president of Xiaomi Group and General Manager of the Redmi brand. Lu Weibing was the former Gionee president.
The Redmi Note 7 is the new premium mid-range smartphone that comes to keep sales alive and comes with a design similar to the Mi 8 Lite and Xiaomi Play. However, here we see some more polished specifications to take the Redmi brand to achieve significance position in the industry, being a worthy opponent of Honor.

Redmi Note 7, the new smartphone of the Redmi brand arrives with a waterdrop notch on a 6.3-inch FHD+ display. The resolution is 2340 × 1080 pixels. The front and the back has a 2.5D glass which gives it a more polished design than the Mi 8 Lite.
The display gets the protection of Gorilla Glass 5. Inside the phone, we get the Snapdragon 660 processor which stands out as superior to the Snapdragon 636 powering the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 6 Pro.
At the rear panel, there is a dual-camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel primary image sensor with an f/1.8 lens, while a 5-megapixel secondary sensor for depth information. A decent 13-megapixel front camera is also there for selfies.
The Redmi Note 7 packs a 4,000mAh battery equipped with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C charging port and also incorporates infrared sensor to be used as a control for our television, air conditioning, etc.
Pricing and Availability of Redmi Note 7
The Redmi Note 7 starts at just CNY 999 (about $150/Rs. 10,000) for the base variant of 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. The 6GB and 64GB storage model comes at a price of CNY 1,399 (about $200/Rs. 14,500).
The phone will be available in solid and gradient color finish. Redmi has not made any announcement regarding the availability of Redmi Note 7 in India or any other global market.
