As an independent brand, Redmi will be launching its first smartphone on January 10 in China. The Redmi phone will be equipped with a 48-megapixel rear camera which is suggested in the teaser image.
The company today released the launch poster for the phone but not mention any other information except the launch date and the camera sensor. Recently Xiaomi announced to make Redmi and independent brand for mobile phones.
In December last year, we reported based on an image released by Xiaomi’s Co-founder and President Lin Bin that there will be a new phone launch in January 2019 that’ll come with a 48-megapixel camera.
Initially, we thought that it could be the Xiaomi Mi 9, but as the Redmi has become a new brand then it will not be a Mi phone. Rumors are surfacing that it could be the Redmi 7 Pro or Redmi Pro 2.
A few days back, a new phone with model number M1901F9T was spotted on TENAA having a dual-camera setup at the rear. However, the name of that model is not yet known. The TENAA listing revealed some of the specifications of that phone such as a 5.84-inch display with a body dimension of 147.76×71.89×7.8mm and a battery capacity of 2900mAh.
This new Redmi phone will be competing with Honor V20 aka View 20 smartphone that also comes with a 48-megapixel camera.
