It’s been around half a month and now Samsung has started releasing the software update for the Galaxy S7. However, it’s not a major update, only brings the January 2019 security patch and comes with software version G930FXXS3ERLF.
As reported by SamMobile, the update is currently rolling out in the UK and fixes three critical vulnerabilities in Android and four that affect Samsung’s software. In 2018, Samsung released the list of eligible devices for the Android Pie which did not include the Galaxy S7.
The Galaxy S7 Edge was also not there in the list of Pie update, but we spotted the handset running Android Pie on Geekbench. So, maybe Samsung might release the update at some point of time in 2019.
As mentioned earlier, the update is rolling out in the United Kingdom, other regions may get soon. You can download the update by going to the Settings / Software Update menu and selecting the option Download updates.
