Vivo today announced its concept Vivo Apex 2019 phone which has a unibody design quite similar to the Meizu zero. The Apex 2019 comes packed with most impressive specs and the highlight feature is 5G support.
It’s a truly wireless and non-porous device without any hole for the USB connector, headphone jack or any physical button. Eliminating all inputs (which also includes the end of the SIM-card port), the APEX 2019 gains an extremely unique look.
Vivo Apex 2019 Specifications and Features
Vivo has confirmed that the model will hit the market with support for 5G networks. In addition, there will be 12GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. The power of the smartphone comes from the excellent Snapdragon 855 chipset.
It’s important to note that Snapdragon 855 will be used by most of the OEMs in their 2019 flagship phones. LG will also unveil the 5G smartphone at its MWC 2019 event on February 24.
The Apex 2019 has a fingerprint sensor across the screen. This enables you to unlock the device by touching anywhere on the screen. Not many details are revealed, but it is possible that the company has adopted a single large CMOS sensor board to enable such a feature.
If you thinking about the front camera, then remember that the company has not given any details. How users will capture selfies is still a question. There is a dual-camera setup at the rear with LED flash.
In the absence of USB-C port, the Vivo Apex 2019 can be charged using the rear-mounted magnetic connector that can be used for data transfer as well. Right now, we don’t know if there is support for Qi standard wireless charging like its competitor Meizu zero.
Also skipping speaker grilles, the device has On-Screen Sound technology where a piezoelectric piece vibrates with incoming digital signals, transforming them into analog signals that are passed to the body of the device to emit sound.
There are no details on the pricing and availability of the Apex 2019, but it is possible that the smartphone will be displayed during the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona.
