Vivo has launched a new Y-series smartphone in China, the Vivo Y89. The phone is a mid-range device and comes with dual rear cameras and a notched display. The Y-series from Vivo continues to penetrate the mid-range mobile users.
The Vivo Y89 comes with a 6.26-inch Full HD+ display having a resolution of 2280 × 1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Snapdragon 626 processor clubbed with 4GB of RAM. The internal storage is 64GB which supports up to 256GB of expansion via microSD card.
With dual SIM support, the Vivo Y89 runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with Funtouch OS 4.0 on top. However, it would have been better if the company would have used Android Pie. The dual cameras at the rear consist of 16-megapixel primary sensor + 2-megapixel secondary sensor.
The camera comes with modes like professional mode, panorama, beauty, AR shoot, backlight photo, blur photo, etc. A 16-megapixel selfie sensor is at the front. The smartphone packs a 3,260mAh capacity battery.
For security, you get both fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature. You also get standard connectivity option like WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, OTG, and GNSS multi-star positioning (including BDS/GPS/GLONASS, etc).
