Android Pie on Nokia 6

HMD Global is going according to its Android pie roadmap plan. The company has started releasing the Android 9.0 Pie update to the Nokia 6 (2017). Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer at HMD Global today announced the news on Twitter.

It’s really good news for Nokia 6 users because the handset is quite old. The update comes with February security update and weighs around 1614.2 MB in size. It may depend on the region.

Last month, Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 5 (2017) were the two smartphones from Nokia to get the latest Android Pie update.

What’s new

  • New system navigation, settings menu and
    notifications
  • Adaptive Battery power prioritization for users’
    most common), used apps/services
  • Adaptive and optimized brightness levels
  • Predictive Application Actions
  • Google Security Patch 2019-02

It is not clearly mentioned which region the update is rolling out now, but you must get it when as soon as possible. It’s rolling-out via OTA (over-the-air) so not all the users will get it right now. In the meantime, you can check it by going to Settings > Updates > Check System Updates.
