Motorola has started seeding Android 8.1 Oreo to its Moto G4 Plus smartphone in the US and India. The update includes the December 1st 2018 Android security patch, stability improvements, and bug fixes.
Last month, it was reported that Motorola is testing the Android Oreo on Moto G4 Plus in India. Now it is rolling out in above-mentioned regions and other markets to get soon. Below is the Moto G4 Plus Android Oreo changelog:
- Multitasking features
- More efficient notification controls
- Improved data saver
- Battery features
- New power menu UI
- Bluetooth improvements
Other features the update brings include the picture in picture mode, dark mode, improved doze, auto-fill text box and much more.
The Moto G4 Plus is a quite old device launched in India in 2016 under the mid-range price tag. Now, this Android Oreo will be the last update for the handset. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p IPS Display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and 16MP rear camera.
The handset is available in 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage options.
The update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA) so not all users will get it right now. You may wait for some more time. You can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Software Update.
