Last month, Redmi became an independent brand and launched the mid-range Redmi Note 7 smartphone in China. Initially, it was said that the Redmi brand will focus on budget and mid-range devices only, while the Xiaomi Mi brand for a high-end phone.

Now it seems that the Redmi brand might soon launch a new smartphone under the high-end segment and it’ll come with Snapdragon 855 processor. As reported by Gadgets360, Redmi chief Lu Weibing on his Weibo account shared a photo with his team to discuss the development.

He confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will be using the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC. Actually, there are two smartphones in the pipeline, one is Redmi Note 7 Pro and the other referred to as the “855 Flaship”.

Right now, there is no information when these devices will arrive or how much will they cost.

The Redmi Note 7 was launched last month under the mid-range segment and its highlight feature is 48-megapixel rear camera. Othe specifications include a 6.3-inch FHD+ display, 4,000mAh battery, 13-megapixel front camera, and USB-C charging port.

The company has not launched the Redmi Note 7 in India, but it’ll soon bring it to the Indian market.
