Xiaomi Mi 9 is going to see the light of the day on February 20 in China and on February 24 at MWC 2019 for the global event. Mi 9 Explorer Edition render appears with a transparent back, not looks official though but we can’t even ignore it.
The reason we can’t ignore this because Xiaomi came with the Explorer Edition of Mi 8 which is the successor to the Mi 9. However, there is no official information from the company whether it’ll come with this Mi 9 EE variant.
We’ve seen several official images of the Xiaomi Mi 9 revealing the triple camera setup but the Explorer Edition render shows off the quad-camera (four cameras) setup at the rear. Till now we’ve only seen Samsung bringing the quad-camera setup in its Galaxy A9 smartphone.
Talking about the Mi 9 EE render, the first thing we notice is the red detail around the first camera. And obviously, the transparent back cover that, like the predecessor, gives view to a 3D reproduction of the components.
If you compare both Explorer Editions, you can see that the transparency of Mi8 is different from that of Mi9. This means that, most likely, it is not a fake image. But it’ll be too early to say anything because right now official information is available.
We are looking forward to the launch of Mi 9 flagship phone on February 20.
