Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch date of its Mi 9 flagship smartphone. The company is holding an event in China on February 20 for the launch of Xiaomi Mi 9. It’s worth noting that on the same date Samsung will also launch its Galaxy S10 series.
Today, Xiaomi on its official Weibo account shared the launch poster confirming the launch date. It said that the Mi 9 will be the beautiful and strongest Mi phone ever.
We can believe this as recently Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi Note 7 which stands strongly against all durability tests.
This is surprising that we’ve not seen much leak images or renders of the Mi 9 until now. For example, the internet is flooded with renders of Samsung Galaxy S10 and its other variants. However, earlier this month Xiaomi’s Product Director Wang Teng caught holding a smartphone which was said to be the Mi 9.
The image revealed the blue color of the handset and three cameras at the rear. We are continuously hearing regarding the hardware configurations of the handset. Let’s discuss them.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Specifications [Expected]
The Xiaomi Mi 9 might hold a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. We are sure the handset will run Android 9.0 Pie with company’s own MIUI 10 skin on top. Keep note that Xiaomi has started working on MIUI 11, so maybe when the final version rolls out the Xiaomi Mi 9 might receive it first.
It is said that the handset will feature triple cameras at the rear featuring a 48MP primary sensor. We expect to see a 25MP selfie camera, a notch on the display, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Type C port.
It will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship chipset Snapdragon 855. This SoC is capable to support 5G connectivity, so maybe Mi 9 would support 5G.
We are very excited and looking forward to the launch. Let us know what you guys think.
