After rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo to the Moto G4 Plus, Lenovo-owned Motorola has now started releasing the Android 8.1 Oreo update to Moto G4. As reported by XDA Developers, the update rolling out to some users in Brazil with version OPJ28.111-22.
The update also includes the December 2018 Android Security Patch. Please keep note that once upgraded with this update you can’t downgrade to the previous version. So make sure you decide before proceeding.
Moto G4 Specifications
The Moto G4 was launched in June 2016 in India under the mid-range category. It comes with a 13MP rear camera, 2GB RAM+16GB inbuilt storage, 5.5-inch Full HD display, and Snapdragon 617 processor.
In addition, it has Adreno 405 GPU for graphics, 3000mAh battery, and a 5MP selfie camera. The display gets Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It was launched with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, in earlier 2018 it was updated to the Nougat.
Now it is receiving the Android 8.1 Oreo update. The update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA) to some users in Brazil, but slowly it might reach out to more users. You can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Software Update.
