Google Lens now comes to the Xiaomi’s MIUI camera app. Initially, the Google Lens is integrated to a limited number of Xiaomi smartphones including the Poco F1, Redmi Note 7 series and Redmi Y2. Right now, it’ll be rolled out in beta ROMs and a wider release is expected in coming days under the stable update.
Unveiled a couple of years ago as a standalone app, Google Lens is also available for download from Google Play as well as built into the Google Photos app. With this app, you can scan a product, animal, text or something else in your environment to know what that object is.
Last year Google decided that it will make the Google Lens available to manufacturers such as LG, Motorola, Xiaomi, Nokia and OnePlus among others to respond positively. Some of the OEMs including Google, ASUS, Nokia, and Motorola have already incorporated the feature into their native mobile camera apps.
